Ex Hammer Johnson On Move As Liverpool Take Leave Of Their Senses - Again!

What is it about the close season that makes Rafa Benitez lose all sense of perspective? The guy comes from Spain so it surely can't be the heat! Last season it was Keane, overpriced and so obviously a square peg in a round hole; this year it is Johnson.

Did Rafa see the Kazakhstan game? We are not talking world beaters are we and Johnson was made to look a complete mug. Ok he was good against Andorra but 'Arry's wife could have done a job against those mugs. The fact is, Johnson is OK going forward but, defensively, he can be a complete liability.

More money than sense - but that's Rafa all over isn't it. Even with the Mancs seriously weakened by the loss of Ronaldo and probable defection of Tevez, that run without winning the Prem is destined to stretch out still longer!

And the West Ham connection? Like so many, he was made in West Ham; and like so many he was sold without a sell on clause.

Why don't you worry about your own crappy team and leave others alone to do their business. Dumb shits like you shouldn't be allowed to blog.

2233,could you try writing in English please? Johnson would be an OK buy for £5m; £17m for a dodgy right back is crazy.

*Yawn*

Another day, another silly little blog post about Liverpool Football Club.

Are you sure this is a West Ham blog?

"I'm West Ham...Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool"

Even other Iron hoofs wouldn't be this pathetic.

Hammersfan, I'm with you. What is it with people being unable to write properly these days?!? There's 'text' speak, then there's complete dumb arse Scouse speak, clearly.

I agree, Johnson would be good, and I'd have us pay anything up to £8m for the kid, but I'd rather see Pantsil back for £3m than pay that.

Johnson is a 24 year old England international. Hopefully he will be our first choice right full back for the next seven or eight years. Alternatively if he is still playing for England in four years time Liverpool could expect to more than recoup the 17m outlay.

I'm a west ham fan and even I'm getting fed up of your shit articles. Stop gong on about other clubs your embarasing.

I am a Liverpool supporter and I could not agree more with this. This is absolutely crazy money for an average attacking right back and a woeful defensive right back.

What is he thinking!

I suppose that history will prove whether the signing was a wise one or not; however, I tend to agree that £17m seems very expensive for someone whose defensive qualities remain doubtful. Going forward though, no question, the guy does the business. In any event, I wish him all the best with his new club.

How do we even know the exact fee - the papers are often quite a way out. And Pompey still owe Liverpool for Crouch.

I'll ignore your borderline xenophobic comment - but you must realise even Rafa thought 20M for Keane was too much, but Rick Parry pressed ahead with the deal..... and so on.

You get the message, check your facts before you start mouthing off. Rafa does not have to answer to sour grapers like you - 3-0!

Simon - so obviously not a Liverpool fan. Why are you getting worked up like a girl when the transfer window isn't officially even open yet, let alone closed.

FOOL!

Borderline xenophobia? Without borderlines, you couldn't have xenophobics!

i think you have taken leave of your senses, glen Johnson is a great right back dont judge him on two games look at his overall performance... i think he is good at his job, he can go forward as well as being able to track back and defend. What more would you want from a right back..

Yeah, unfortunately this blog ends up in my RSS feed time and again.

Why do you do it, seriously? Are you that bored with your own side that you have to go on about another?

I can understand the fascination; the best centre forward in the game, the best midfielder, the most loyal and vocal fans, the pedigree, the history. Why don't you just go out and buy a Liverpool shirt?

you clearly havnt got a clue. johnson is the best right back in the prem at the minute, and keane wasnt rafa's choice, he was forced into it because he knew keane is hopeless, so he didnt get a game in the 6 months before we sold him on. do some research mate.

pompey owe us 7 mill from crouch so that leaves us to pay 10 mill,we sell arbeloa to real for 8 mill so in the end we will end up payin 2/4 mill for glen, dont be a bitter southener you would give your left and right leg to have glen back at the hammers and talk about debt lmfao check your own situation out, bought out by a bank in worse debt than us,plus when your in the champions league we earn more prize money from that comp than you get from gate recipts in a season........

worry about your own team, how much you still payin neil lmfao worth it stfu

I agree that's a lot of money for Liverpool. But that's the money being paid around by title winning teams, like Chelsea and United. If Liverpool wants to compete in that league, we'll have to start spend some silly money. AND Johnson is one of the best 5 right backs (D. Alves, Maicon, Bosingwa, S. Ramos... Johnson) in the world, English and young, so if he stays for seven more years it'll be well worth it. Damn, if we win the league next season it'll be worth it already! One less position to worry about, how many to go???? Backup right and left wingers and striker?

Check this link out, a full break down of Benitez's signings. Interesting reading as he wheels and deals more than Harry Bungknapp! Note the number of British players (11/70) and the sheer volume of players nobody has ever heard of!
