Two More Join The Squad - Really?

Well the Official Site stimulated a moment's interest with the promising headline "Two more join the squad". Have we landed Eider by Toyota? Had Mancini decided to swallow his pride and play economy class? Has Nouble joined the ranks of the Claret & Blue? Well no, but Noble has returned from his holiday and so has Tomkins! So, another day and another blank on the transfer signings front and we still do not have a complete forward line or a right back worthy of the name.

Meanwhile the OS treat us to a detailed account of training. Now this spirit of sharing is fabulous but I'm not sure I would be too happy as a player for these sorts of details to be released. The news that Savio, Stanislas and Edgar caught the eye on the attacking front is all very well for them, but it tells us that Jimenez and Cole were less impressive, which perhaps should not be paraded for all to see. Also, it would have done little to boost Faubert's confidence or morale given the site tells us that he was playing head to head against the eye catching Savio!

One thing that is enlightening is that Dyer is still involved in "specialist fitness work with Alex Dyer". Read that in a positive way if you wish but, to me, it suggests that Dyer is still a short stretch away from readmission to the treatment room. There is an ugly sense of déjà vu here. No Ashton, Dyer receiving specialist fitness support, Cole not impressing in front of goal, no alternatives up front, nobody to play right back...the sooner there is some genuine good news to be released the better!

Will you please stop moaning. All you ever seem to do is complain about West Ham Utd. What good are you actually doing publicly presenting your pointless mutterings?
We don't want your opinion on every single story from the official site or from Tribalfootball thank you very much.

Who says "we" don't? I know you operate under the name of Scott but presumably you are not Duxbury and so do not have authority to speak for the club. In what capacity are you therefore speaking? Fed Up From Basilson?

Another utterly pointless and negative article.
Congratulations yet again on proving that just because the internet gives everyone a voice, not everyone should use it.

I happen to agree with Scott, they're meant to breed real men in East London Not moaning ninnies or spud u likes. Calm down, real supporters have an understanding of what we're trying to create here.... and it takes time. I bet you were one of the TRUE supporters that used to boo Johnny Lyall RIP!

Westie, how much do you want to bet?

You guys seem to be missing the point somewhat. If the article is pointless, what does that say about the original article on the OS? Why are they pumping out pointless articles? How about some real news, like where is Ashton and what is happening with him? Would that not be of more interest?

You seem to be under the impression that the Summer Transfer Window is like shopping in a supermarket... deals take time. The Jimmenez deal took six months and all of a sudden we should be buying players left wing, right back and centre forward.
The point of the OS article to give positive news to those who are interested, yes it can be one sided and overly positive but if you hadn't noticed we lost our captain , so it is interesting to hear that Faubert is having Savio run at him in training as he could be in contention for a flying wing back, does it mean he will be? No, but is hows that Zola and Clarke are looking at what options we have and trying to assemble a decent squad ahead of the start of the season.

Embracing the negative as you do I am sure it hasn't escaped your notice we are owned by a bank, have no money and cannot offer European football this season therefore it's going to be a long hard job to convince people to come here - Mancini's family allegedly doesn't want to move, so is that Duxbury's fault now?

The OS stated Ashton and Dixon were staying behind to work on extra fitness, Ashton has his own separate physio as you should know - give the club credit for not spending twice the airfare and accommodation - he was supposed to have been sold to Stoke last week, in which case I would gladly help you pull the trigger, but we are being linked with an exciting 19 year old (Nouble) who turned down the chance to rot in Chelsea reserve behind their ego lined bench which will compliment us well and add to the squad.

The problem with this off season period is that school kids and grown men become irrational and start expecting news and blue ribbon signings all the time because they have more time on their hands and for a 50 year old man you come across as a petulant child.

You think it's pointless that the OS is publishing articles about two of our bright academy stars who played a big part for us last season joining the squad for preseason?

Personally I don't, yes it's a puff piece, but so what, does it really warrant another bitter attack on the club - does it say Jimmenez and Cole didn't shine, no it shows that the youngsters are doing well and surely The Project, The Academy brand all benefit from the publicity...

Notice you didn't comment on Sir Trev being honoured, but then you'd have to climb down off your high horse and say something positive for once.

1208, good reply. I will post on the Brooking tribute since you've requested it.

please don't. What has Sir Trev ever done to you?

LOL Scarred me for life actually. Great fan of him as a player, feel less respect for him as a man having met him twice. Bobby Moore was a much more civil guy!

it's funny, he never mentions you.

HammersFan, I'm not saying we don't want ANY articles, its just when you comment on everything from the tea lady dropping her spoon and giving your negative spin it's an embarassment.
Judging by most of your replies (that you let through) I think 'we' is apt here.
I've got nothing against you personally, it's just too much.

Scott, you think it is "too much" but others don't. As I keep saying, nobody makes you read the articles. Significantly, this site regularly features on the most read panel of News Now so plenty seem to appreciate the volume of articles!
