Ilan At Home At West Ham

Interesting to see Ilan quoted on the OS saying how happy he is at West Ham and how much he admires Mr Zola. Apparently he was "really shocked" when somebody in France asked him about the infamous quotes published at the weekend by The Smut of The World. Far from wanting to leave and believing that Zola has lost control of the squad, it appears that Ilan is perfectly happy at West Ham and may be with us next season if West Ham exercise the option to extend his stay.

Seemingly the quotes can be put down to somebody wanting to "cause some mischief" and Ilan is "really happy" after scoring the winner against Sunderland. Far from being a tactical numpty who plays players out of position, Ilan describes Zola as somebody who is "very open" and "easy to speak to" because he "knows straight away what a player feels."

Now then, which story do we believe? The story in The Smut of the World or the story on the club's Official Site? Well, the Three Monkeys will swallow the OS line of course; they believe everything the club says. If the original story was all bullshit, however, why aren't the club and Ilan seeking redress through the courts and the Press Complaints Commission? I know people think journalists "enhance" stories but they sure as hell can't attribute quotations to people who have never said them. You know when it is bullshit because the person quoted is "a source in the club" or "a friend of the player". When a newspaper says "Ilan said" then Ilan said it or the paper is on very dodgy ground!

So, my question is, when is the court case?

Come On You See Them In Court Irons!

I think Illan did complain about Zola, but it was kinda like that issue with Illunga last year. Illan probably complained about being out of position, but I'm sure the source just messed it up or wahtever, kinda like with Illunga as well. We'll just see what really happened, after our game with Liverpool. Come on you Irons!

“Ilan said” - - - but who to?

I can’t imagine him giving an exclusive interview to the NoW but surely even if he had, there would have been a lot more to publish than just these few lines?

More likely there was a third party involved. An agent trying to drum up some interest in the player he represents, perhaps? Or maybe Ilan let slip these comments to a friend or confidant only to find them in print later, much to his discomfort.

Now the Club has closed ranks and a sanitised version has been released for consumption.

Where the truth lies is anybody’s guess.

Cousin of Julian?

Gustave died 130 years ago. What would that make him - great, great grandfather perhaps?

There were times last season when JF looked 130 years old!

Think that was the time spent napping on the Real Madrid bench.

I see that according to press reports
Tevez has 'criticised' Mancini's training methods.

Must be catching this 'South Americans having trouble with Italians' thing?

I saw that. Let's hope Mancini says "He's the new Robinho" and sends him out on loan. Where do you want to go Carlito? West Ham! Well we can dream!
