Another friendly victory and three trialists on show!

The Avram road show moved into Milton Keynes and we were taking no hostages again, not even concrete cows! Four games played now, and four away victories under our belt. Did Zola win as many away games in his entire spell in charge?

Good to see Cole on the score sheet yet again. To sell him would be madness in my opinion, almost as mad as selling Parker for just £7million! It's also good to see Faubert on the score sheet. If we can identify a right back, it's looking increasingly likely that Faubert will be used in an advanced position by Grant. Tomkins was again employed at right back anyway which suggests that this is his earmarked role for the coming season. Did Zola ever try him at right back? I think Curbishley did but my memory may be playing tricks on me.

No idea how the trialists played but it is interesting that they are at the club. Anybody knoow anything about Ben-Hatira and Caraglio?

Biggest puzzle for me is the continued absence of Barerra and Piquionne. Are they injured? The Official Site report doesn't even mention them. Explanations are given for the absences of Hines, Collison, Behrami and Dyer (being rested!), but no reference is made to the newbies. Odd.

Anyway, four games and four wins. This is looking promising!

Zola has played Tomkins at rightback, but he got massacred...then again, Zola's defense tactics weren't great..so much for Steve Clarke eh?

Maybe he was just resting Barrera and Piquoinne for a match against a tougher team?

COYI!

Another away win and another clean sheet HF, although the defence did have a stern workout but coped well under a spate of corners according to the OS!

Apparently, Ben Hatira and Caraglio were both lively and produced some good interplay with Parker which resulted in a couple of missed chances for Ben Hatira.
Argentine Milton Caraglio is said to be on the verge of signing from Rosario Central and it looks like the German lad, Anis Ben Hatira, has been recommended for trial by new no.2 Petrovic through his Hamburger SV connections?! The 31yr old ex-Bayern German keeper Stefan Wessels played the 2nd half in goal.

I'm pretty sure I read that both Barrera and Piquionne are being held back from the domestic friendlies and will make their debuts against Deportivo?!
Not sure if Behrami's being rested or not, as I'm sure he's still trying to shake off the knock he picked up for the Swiss in S. Africa?!

on a staycataion hammersfan? BTW I think Parker will be off.. harry 'wrecking ball' redknapp won't give up - I think the Davids mean what they say but will be powerless given parker's previous on skipping it to 'bigger' clubs.. hold out for £15m at least, especially if there is a bidding war, with that cash no need to sell Carlton and possibly enough to put in an above par bid for KPB

Hammersfan said...

Of course he will be off, exactly as I called yesterday. That's why Sullivan made his statement ads I said. That's also why the story of the contract offer was leaked to the Mail the day before the statement. That's also why the Mail delayed breaking the Parker story until after Sullivan made his statement - we will give you an exclusive to hold back. I am truly amazed that our fans continue to buy the bullshit that our owners spew. Look at the comparison of the Duxbury statement regarding Bellamy and the Sullivan statement regarding Parker. It's not far off word perfect!

Who says everyone is buying their bullshit HF?

Why pidgeon hole all other WH fans other than yourself? Are you superior to the rest of us?

I don't see a queue or posts saying that we all think he'll stay. We all know that if Parker wants to leave then he will and there's very little the club can do about it.

We've seen it time and time again with transfer sagas at other clubs and ours is no different. What DS is doing is ensuring that either we keep SP or get the highest price possible for him while making himself look good with the WH fans. What's wrong with any of that?

Why do you think your some kind of genius for putting that on a blog?

piquionne was on the bench last night and if you cared to read stories a bit more you would know barrera is on his way back from mexico as he went back there after he signed

So you think Parker is going to leave do you 11.46? You don't think Parker is Mr West Ham? You think Sullivan is going to renege on his promise to the West Ham fans do you? What are you, some sort of idiot? Or a Spud perhaps? Don't you believe Sullivan's heartfelt, 100% honest statement? Dear God, with fans like you, who needs enemies? Now, what have I been called for predicting parker will leave? Moron, prick, a word I have to delete when it is used...Are you all of these things, because that's what I have been called for speaking HONESTLY. Don't you know that a prerequisite of expressing an opinion on West Ham is that you have to lodge your head three feet up your anus first?

I'm 11.46 above...

HF, you seem to have a strangely child like and defensive nature. For someone that chooses to write a blog you're incredibly sensitive not only to criticism but also anyone that dares to have a different opinion to your own.

I'm saying that DS may or may not mean what he's saying about SP but like many other PL Chairman before him, he's made a promise that he probably won't be able to keep if SP wants to leave.

I don't think there's anything wrong with his statement if it means that we either keep SP or get the best price for him? Why do you have a problem with it? If the best interest of WH are protected by that statement then who cares?

Perhaps not all other WH fans are inferior to you and can read between the lines and make their own considered opinion. We just don't go around saying 'I told you so' if we're proved right (sounds more like my seven year old daughter).

Chairman and Managers have been talking like this for decades, it's part of the game and hardly headline news. Fergie said over and over again that Ronaldo wasn't for sale but ultimately the player made it happen. SP can do the same.

As for SP, I would love to keep him and think he's a great player but he held Charlton to ransom to force through his move to Chelsea so it's not beyond him. Hopefully he respects the fantastic support that WH fans have given him and stays loyal but who knows with PL players these days? Unfortunately, I'm not a fortune teller like you so only time will tell.

Rather than target DS for doing the obvious, why haven't you written a piece criticising Parker for his silence over the whole affair? Sure someone as cynical and perceptive as you would interprete that as a lack of loyalty.

I asked you the same question yesterday but you failed to respond.

hf is a sicko! honestly mate - there is something very disturbing about you.... I honestly and sincerely believe you need help

Hammersfan said...

1246 I agree with everything you say. It's what I've been saying. I merely quote back the response I have been giving!

Hammersfan said...

Except Parker has apparently said he wants to talk to Tottenham. Not exactly silence eh?

Hammersfan said...

And in answer to your question, I suspect that if Parker makes a public statement, he will be deemed to have requested a transfer which, no doubt, will stop him taking a cut of the transfer fee. That doesn't show him in the best light and it also adds another dimension to what Sullivan may be up to!

Anonymous said...

Parker has been 100% slient.

Have you read a direct quote from Parker or his agent saying that he wants to leave or speak to Spurs?

Why are you making DS the villain in your blogs when all he is doing is in the best interest of the club? (e.g. keep the player or maximise the sale fee)

SP could either stop the whole saga with one statement or on the other hand perhaps he wants to leave.

Either way, he holds the cards so why not aim your anger at him? Why dig out DS?

Hammersfan said...

I'm not digging at DS, I support the sale of Parker for anything over £10m. I am merely commenting on what I think is happening. Where have I said that Sullivan is doing the wrong thing? Yes I have suggested he is being Machiavellian but I would be just as slippery in his shoes. It isn't criticism, it is an honest assessment of what I think is going on.

Anonymous said...

It certainly is criticism that you aimed at DS. I quote you from your blog yesterday...

"But no, the club runs the deal up the flag pole and tells the world that Sullivan intends to keep his promise to the fans! What a guy! What a hero! What a great Chairman! David Sullivan we love you! Knocked back Tottenham! Saved our Scotty!"

"So WHEN Scotty goes, Sullivan will come out smelling of roses and all the shit will be cloyed around the ankles of Scotty Parker. I can hear you guys now, "Bloody exPlastic Yid! Sullivan is always right! Long live Comrade Sullivan!"

Sullivan wants to either keep SP or get the best price which is what I want for the club so good luck to him. Why do you feel the need to attack him for it?

If SP leaves then he'll have CHOSEN to do so. Will you write a suitably critical article about SP if he chooses to go?

Hammersfan said...

You quote me but you do not highlight any criticism. I would do exactly the same if I was Sullivan. Where do I say he is wrong to do this? I simply say what I think he is doing! If I am critical of anybody, it is of the mugs who take him at his word! I read about these idiots who send thousands of pounds off to starngers who tell them that they have a million pounds waiting to be transferred out of Nigeria and I think, more bloody fool you! I'm not sure that should be deemed a crime. If people arre that stupid, they deserve to lose their money! Sulliivan is a very successful business man. You don't make all that money by being either stupid or principled as a rule. Why would anybody with an ounce of intelligence trust the guy? The trouble is, West Ham fans consider it a badge of honour to trust blindly in whoever is in charge! Will these fools never learn? But it is a different regime! Just because we've been mugged before it doesn't mean...

Wake up and smell the coffee folks. Sullivan and Gold are not stupid and neither are they a charitable organisation. I trust them actually. I trust them to run the club on a commercial basis. Selling Parker for £10m + would make sound commercial sense. Therefore...
