More Than Half A Million Visitors

Back on October 28, 2009, I ran a post entitled, "Approaching 50,000. Thanks to all!" Well here we are, less than a year on, and that old fashioned hit counter has now clocked past 500,000! No wonder my detractors don't like its inclusion!

Thanks are due to News Now and to my many contributors, especially the regulars. Last time I listed names, I upset a few by forgetting them; so please excuse a general thanks to all!

I'm not sure how much more we can grow. Half a million hits a year was beyond my wildest dreams when I started out. Here's hoping I can report and comment on some good news next season to nail the lie that I am a Tottenham fan!

Why the picture of Lady Gaga? As a reward for Stani!

Congrats HF. Hope you reach a million by Christmas.

You wouldn't have half as many if that chap with the multiple personality disorder 'Anonymous' didn't keep showing up!

Cheers Sav.

Very true Apache mate. To think, I owe it all to davefking. If he hadn't got Fanno banned from the Org, I would still be working for Nev! Cutting off your nose springs to mind!

"Some exciting signings". Will Lady GaGa give us enough cover at the back? Joe Cole coming home?

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta?? You sure HF?!
...and there was me thinking it was Hazel O'Connor!?

Great numbers! Any predictions on the 1 million hits then? Before or after Christmas??

Yeh right, just trying to spoil me aren't you? I'm sure if you had your way, you'd make me hang out with Avram at those places.

Plus, if it was a real reward, you wouldn't have followed it up with a picture of posh spice!

You should've just posted one of the mesmeric Katie Melua. Now that's a woman. I'm sure all the lads will agree with me.

Keep up the good work big boy...and snap out of that England depression before the new season. Yes, we have noticed.

hahaha you got banned from .org - hahahaha now that doesn't surprise me - was it for being a negative tosser?

Ha ha ha, no, it was for upsetting the Klaret and Blue Klan. They need a new Grand Dragon now sadly.

I think you should list the regulars - because I reckon there are no more than 10. Which is a pathetic ratio.... come on HF surprise me - bet you can't list more than 10. Quick look at WHTID and I reckon they've got over 100 regulars.

That's a fair request hf list the regulars - I think the last poster is correct - there aren't more than 10 - indeed a terrible statistic - one regular for every 50,000 hits, priceless!

1910 and it's all gone quiet over there.......... hahahaha

Hard to say as so many regulars hide behind anonymity. But, as I keep saying, this is a blog, not a forum. I am grateful to those who contribute but that's not the primary function of a blog.

And the comparisons with WHTID are absurd. THAT is a forum! It's like comparing a nightclub with a library and saying the nightclub is more important because it is noisier. What was the last entertaining or stimulating article written by Dale or Chandos? Their contributions are as luke warm as that gay character in Porridge.

so prey tell what is the primary function of a blog?

WHTID - it's a page on the internet just like this one - they obviously have more visitors, more interaction, more intelligent and varied discussions and they talk about West Ham in mature way - and of course you are right comparing the two IS absurd - because this page doesn't manage any of the above. hahahahahahahahahaha

The function of this blog is for me to express my views on West Ham. The function of comments is for you to comment on my views if you choose to do so. The debates on WHTID are rarely focused on the subject of the article and tend to be extremely circular. As with the Org, there is a hub, or Klan, who contribute the bulk of the comments. You dont pay your money so you dont have to make a choice and there is certainly a place for WHTID and the Org, both of which have been around for many years, enabling them to build an "audience". This site is still the new boy on the block. Nobody MAKES you come here, but you keep coming back don't you? Why?

and what do you mean by tend to become extremely circular?
