Rumours all in the right direction!

True they are still rumours and we've heard the one about the aged Englishman, the handy Frenchman and the underage Brazilian already this summer, but we continue to be linked with a list of recruits ranging from 'Allo 'Allo's Le Clerc to the thirteen million Euro man, Remy. And still nobody has left!

It is still far too early to let our guard down in relation to Sullivan and Gold, but you would have to be churlish in the extreme not to give them some credit for the way that they have handled affairs since they arrived. From snapping up McCarthy, Mido and Ilan before the window slammed shut, through kicking out Mido and Ilan once they had served their purpose, and including the support, then criticism and then dismissal of Zola, the Davids have ticked every box near as damn correctly.

Avram was appointed without any messing around and his targets were pursued as soon as the new window opened. The signing of Hitlersburger looked promising anyway; his call up to the Germany squad now makes it look inspired! Barerra could be anything, but his signing was a positive statement, even if he proves to be crap. Piquionne will do a job hopefully. And Ben Haim has been dropped because of medical problems. You have the feeling that under the previous regime, he would have been signed regardless. How else can you explain the signing of Dyer, Bellamy, Upson, Parker and Ljungberg, all of whom arrived with a poor injury record?

If we do land Remy, then that will be a real statement of intent. Keep it up S&G, you are winning this old cynic over!

Yes HF, they are turning us into believers. I still have some reservations but I have to admit that if they manage Remy and a good right full back I will probably become their Stani for next year (sorry Stani - just a joke I couldn't resist).

It has emerged, allegedly, that Ben Haim's medical went without a hitch, and he was passed fit! The groin thing was put out to cover the fact that the stumbling block is STILL his excessive pay demands!!

H-I-T-Z-L-S-P-E-R-G-E-R !!
THAT is how he spells his name HF...and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't thank you if he saw the way you're 'lampooning' the spelling?!!

You're a better man than me Shaun, I can't spell it, no matter how I try, thus the deliberate incorrect spelling. Things went down hill for this Cockney when we signed a guy called Radaciuou (Did I get it right?) How can a guy have a string of five vowels on the end of his name. he was clearly shopping in Harrods for a consonant! Our German friend has the opposite problem! Five consonants in a row, without even the semi-vowel of y? It aint possible!

And to think that people on this blog had a problem spelling and pronouncing my full name. From today therefore HITZLSPERGER is renamed as HITZ.

"How else can you explain the signing of Dyer, Bellamy, Upson, Parker and Ljungberg, all of whom arrived" - - - what - - prior to Zola?

Now there's a bitch for you.

Nobody argued that stupidity and dubious managerial decisions at Upton Park started with Zola 17:07!

Hammersfan said...

Quite right Sav, as if I was a fan of Turds! LOL Some of these guys are so stupid.

You mean Florin Valeriu Răducioiu?? What a player he was?!

I'm inclined to agree with Sav...if you can't be bothered to copy/paste...just use Hitz or Thomas?! The 'deliberate' incorrect usage ain't good.

Hammersfan said...

That's him! You copy and pasted that! Only four vowels on the end? The u should have been retained but the ioi would have been more appropriately replaced by an n and t!

Shaun said...

Răducntu?? Ridiculous!

Anyway...I'll stop being pedantic and get back 'on-topic'...

If the 'rumours' and/or media-hype are correct...we are now very close to signing Loic Remy! ...and that's from Nice Sporting Director Patrick Governatori no less, allegedly!

We've also 'agreed a fee' of around £5m with Argentinian club Rosario Central for 22yr old striker, Milton Caraglio! Apparently he's agreed on personal terms and it's just a case of paperwork?!

Fact or fiction? Time will tell?
Personally, I think we should have had a punt for Eduardo at only £6m before the Gooners packed him off to Shaktar Donetsk?!! He would have been a great acquisition...class!

One thing that does puzzle me...if all these new signings do come off, on top off those we've already hired and nobody leaves...what sort of wage bill will G&S be looking at?!

How are you showing your support then hammers fan??? Are you gonna go to any matches or buy the new shirt????

Hammersfan said...

Support is not about showing, it is about feeling. It is not about an outward parade, it is about an inner intensity. It is not about a shirt, it is about claret and blue blood. It is not about next season, it is about the club's history. You would not understand all that 1839, for you it is about running round Tottenham with your willy hanging out. That's why people point at you and say, "Look at that cock!"

That HIZT guy's pretty good hey Sav? :)

Support is about not being able to eat when your team is playing....that's what happens to me anyway!

I like what I have heard about him so far Stani. Haven't seen him play yet. Looking forward to watching him and the rest of the guys on TV in the game against Panathinaikos on Friday.

O my God Sav! I cannot believe you did not get that joke!!! I will accept the excuse that you're tired.

I have noticed you have mispelled the short name but I gathered it was a typo. I wasn't sure it was intentional. Nice one Stani! I get it now.

..thanks Sav! I'm not just an ugly face you know, I've been known to exhibit a bit of wit now and again.

Looks like I've got some work to do on you...
