Questions For Avram

Religion. Funny the way it really matters some days and seems to be forgotten on others.
I wonder, does Avram understand the meaning of hypocrisy?

Completely agree HF. Religious beliefs are often abused when convenient. In my experience, religions are generally full of hypocrites that preach and claim one thing but often act in blatant contradiction.
20:46, I don't think you're describing just religions there are you? The world is full of hypocrites mate, whether they use religion for it or otherwise.
Dagenham Dave - you are so right mate - there was a time when we all stuck together, through thick and thin, for better or worse - Dunkirk Spirit they used to call it - unfortunately HF is a perfect example of the instant gratification brigade - the me, me, me generation.
There's not a player or a person currently associated with the club that he likes and that's why he will never be a Happy Hammer.
I love them all. I love the way they play to the limits of their ability every game. I love their collective fighting spirit, the way, when they suffer a set back, they regroup and bounce back.
I love the sense of organisation and the way the senior pros help the younger players, like the way Upson says to Tomkins, "I'll take Rooney, Davies, Drogba etcetera".
I love Parker because he committed himself to West Ham as soon as the rumours started about him moving. Some might have hung on until the window closed, hoping for a late move, but not Super Scotty, he came right out and said, "I love this club and its fans and I'm going nowhere" and he signed that contract instantly didn't he?
I love Green. He is so flawless, so perfect every game. I love the way Ben Haim puts HIS religion over ours, ours being that insignificant faith known as West Ham United.
I love Behrami. His commitment to West Ham is total isn't it? I love Tomkins and Da Costa despite the team's poor defensive record when they are in the team. I love Benni, he's so divinely cuddly isn't he? I love Freddie Sears, our veritable goal machine. I adore two goal Boa! Just think, all those games without a goal then, last game before he's released, he scores and secures a new contract. Amazing!
I love Dyer! What a record! Hasn't yet completed a full 90 minutes and hasn't yet scored, but what a super man! How many injuries can one man suffer?
I love Mark Noble and his love of piie 'n' mash. I love Ilunga, especially the way he ambles out to the left, allowing the fans all the excitement that results from a cross into our box.
And what about Spector? You have to love Spector don't you? And Kovac! What a genius! And...
Well it was idiots like HF (and if there's any doubt look at his previous post) who called for Zola's head and look where we are now in a worse position with a less experienced manager.... if you look at Fergies record at ManURE you'll note he was given time to develop - if HF and his cronies had had their way he wouldn't be at ManURE.
HF - WH are nowhere near perfect but the list of 'problems' that you've listed have generally been present for many generations of WH fans and possibly always will be, No matter who the owner, manager or players are. Even the idolised Bobby Moore twice stalled on contract talks and wanted to leave as did Julian Dicks.
The frustration of it all is part and parcel of being a 'Hammer'. That's why WH fans are often respected as some of the most loyal. We support our team through thin and often thinner!
Yeah maybe we're stupid, faith driven lemmings but life is far from perfect and so are West Ham! It's the journey that matters and finding solidarity with fellow fans in our shared misery but also very rare moments of glory!
It's like a bad marriage, if you really resent it that much then get the hell out of there. If not, suck it up and get on with it because we're not going to turn in to Man U, Arsenal or Chelsea anytime soon.
Better still, write 5 negative blog posts a day to rant about how imperfect the club and anything asociated to it is as a form of therapy...

They preach and judge others about moral standards but often live by utterly different rules themselves. I'm sure many Atheists are hypocrites but they generally make less claims of the moral high ground.
I respect those with a faith as it's their choice but religion is very rarely about true faith and commitment to God and your fellow man but often about power, control, manipulation and land!
It's been going on for centuries and that's why you can't trust a word of any historical religious literature. They've all been manipulated and rewritten over hundreds of years to suit the needs of those seeking power and control through the ages.
I genuinely find it astonishing that so many millions/billions are so convinced by it all. It's the biggest and oldest con on earth!

I don't remember Man Utd ever finishing 4th from bottom under Fergie, only avoiding relegation because three truly crap clubs managed to muster less than 34 points over a Premiership season. I also don't think that Fergie had the WORST win ratio of any manager in the club's history. Zola had to go, end of.

I do not assign any cult status to Dicks. Like Parker, he was a mercenary who was in it for what he could get. Great shot but never a great left back and always a bit of a liability defensively because of his tendency to give away unnecessary free kicks. How many England caps did he get?

As for religious hypocrites; they cannot be religious if they are hypocrites so we mustn't look down upon religion when these people are hypocritical. It must be looked at as a human problem, not one of religion.
Religion is diretly responsible for a lot of good in the world. You should recognise this as an atheist.
Stani - You're missing my very point. Of course hypocrites that associate themselves to religions 'shouldn't' be looked upon as religious but that's how they present themselves, it's all utter lies. In my eyes that's the worse form of hypocrisy.
Sorry but I look at religion from completely the other side as you. I think religion IS a huge human problem. It's divisive and has been used as an excuse for some of mankind's most damaging conflicts.
I think it causes far more harm than good and I have no idea in today's modern society of advanced scientific discoveries how people can still believe in a master creator. There's not a shred of evidence to any of it and religions basically prey on a combination of followers faith, hope and fear to control the masses. It's emotional fraud.
