Our loss is Newcastle's gain. Sacking Pardew is where it all went wrong!

The blame has been dished around. It was Eggert's fault. It was Brown's fault before him. It was Turds and Nani and Zola and Grant. Spector was to blame. Noble is to blame. The players couldn't be arsed. The tactics were wrong. Blah, blah, blah.

Well I have maintained all along that we shouldn't have sacked Pardew and one glance at the Premiership table shows you why. I know it is early doors. I know Newcastle may be in a false position. I know Pardew failed at Charlton and wears controversy better than he wears his underpants, but the guy knows how to buy players and organise a team to suit the players at his disposal.

Look at who he brought to West Ham. Green, Cole, Bowyer, Harewood, Zamora, Reo-Coker, Etherington, Ashton, Benayoun, Konchesky, Sheringham, Pantsil...

OK there were a few pups - Spector for one - but when you look at how little Pardew spent - except for Ashton - his transfer dealings were amazing. Harewood, Zamora, Reo-Coker, Etherington, Benayoun, Pantsil and Konchesky all turned a tidy profit for the club after Pardew left and Pards took a relegated team and produced a top 10 Prem team that very, very nearly won the FA Cup.

His dismissal was crass and absurdly premature. Yes we had made a bad start to the season but there was ample time to recover. It was Turds who took us on a losing run that all but condemned us to the drop.

Now look at Pardew at Newcastle. How little of the £40million collected for the sale of Carroll and Nolan has been spent? And yet they are riding high in the division playing the fast and direct football that Pardew fashioned from his charges at Upton Park. And remember, he has lost Barton too.

People are praising Allardyce because of the squad he has assembled. Compare it to the squad Pardew put together. How many of Allardyce's men will cut it in the Prem? Where Pardew bought potential, Doctor Evil has signed players who have already been found wanting in the top division. And remember too that Pardew was robbed of Cole, Carrick, Johnson and Defoe. Allardyce has only lost Parker following relegation from the top division.

True Pardew took two seasons to get up but that would be preferable if it meant building a team capable of surviving and prospering in the top division. Southampton are enjoying the benefits of his astute player recruitment now and so are the Magpies. It was a sad day when we sacked him!

Fergy is hardly ever wrong. He said time ago that Pards was one of the best up and coming young managers.

You know someone tweeted your Baldock post to Gold HF? His response was 'Sam Baldock will get his chance DG'

I agree

LOL Really Stani? Let's hope he pins it up in Allardyce's office! Do I want the club too aware of this blog? I may have to employ a team of lawyers and start using that word allegedly more! If you look in David, I love you really. But I don't like your sidekicks!

This would by the same guy who thought that Mullins was better than mascherano. I'd rather have big Sam any day

Stani said...

Hahaa, yes, that is the fear.

But wouldn't it be nice to be talked about by G,S?&B? I wonder what they'd say about you HF?!

If they do visit, I'd just like to let them know that I'm free...on a free, to play in the midfield and pull the strings. No probs.

A committed Mullins WAS better than the can't be arsed Mascherano. Pardew saw through the Argies. Tevez was fat when he arrived and unfit. Mascherano came along for the ride and wanted out from day one. Team spirit is fundamental to success and Pardew knew these guys were bad for morale. Oh, and he thought their wives were mingers allegedly!

Is this the same Pardew that thought that messers Tevez and Mascherano were not worth a place in the starting eleven for months? How easy people forget!

I rather have Allardyce a thousand times. Just give him time and you will see his achievements at Newcastle.

You silly little man it's all Hughton's work.

Hammersfan said...

DG, why the offensive name calling? Hughton had Carroll, Barton and Nolan at the heart of his team didn't he? Where are they now? Pardew is remodelling the team and spending a fraction of the transfer fees received in the process. Before season kick off, Geordies were furious and predicting relegation. Suddenly they are singing Pardew's praises on the Barcode's boards. Quite a turn around.

Hmm think you boys need a fans view from the other side of the fence. As a lifelong and highly critical NUFC fan I am ideally placed to advise.

Big Sam brought in a massive back room lots of science and a totally one dimensional game. Frankly a lot of fans were glad to get rid.

Pardew, has bought in a lot of young fast players as per the clubs policy. He is the man in charge and anyone who has challenged that has left. The defence although still having frailties looks much better especially in our two centre backs who have really developed since he arrived.

You are welcome to Big Sam and his long ball game, from what I have seen NUFC are moving back towards Pardews own version of "total football"

That said I hope you return soon to the top tier as you should not be where you are.

Cheers mate. Good luck under Pards. I reckon that long wait for a trophy could come to an end if you stand by him.

HF, check this bit of espionage out from an Ipswich fan:

Makes interesting reading.

I'm sure you and Fred will agree on point 6, as will Dale, but in a different way!

Wasn't Pardew's lack of spending down to Mike Ashley not handing over the funds?

As for Allardyce, he did say he expects to lose his job if not promoted at the first attempt. With that kind of pressure, you can see why a manager might go for an immediate fix with the more experienced players he's brought in, than building a team equipped for future success in the Prem.

Two theories then. First, should Sam's gamble pay off and we get promoted, then he's going to rebuild 'once' we get there.

Or.

He's planning on using promotion as a stepping stone for when he applies for the England job next year ;)

HF, I just don't see it. Pards may end up doing well at Toon, but his past is not full of much success. I'm with Sav. Big Sam and his proven history any day.

Hammersfan said...

The boy did good. Fair summary. Hope Sam knows about their makeshift right flank!

I'm going to post a comment with links in it so it may go straight to spam. Keep an eye out HF....

Yes, impressive analysis wasn't it.

I've added Sulli's 11 year old son Jack to the tweets. Apparently he's going to reveal bits and bobs now and again. Bet he'd tell his old man about TGGC if we really tempted him to.

There was also a tweet on Aug 6th HF from "@TheTilehurstEnd" thanking TGGC for helping with their Championship review. They have a blog:

http://thetilehurstend.co.uk/

...and this was the review in question:

http://thetilehurstend.co.uk/2011/08/05/the-201112-championship-preview-in-their-own-words-part-4/

You're at the bottom there. Know anything about this?

Hammersfan said...

Yeah, that asked me to write a preview. For some reason, they held me in higher regard that Dale (who tried to represent the local constituency of Sandhurst and Bracknell) - perhaps they didn't want "Tilehouse End" to be misunderstood!

Hammersfan said...

than Dale! Not that Dale. Well yes, that Dale but not in that sentence!

ScoresOnTheDoors said...

Oh dear oh dear oh dear - that just won't do - you did a terrible job - event the Millwall reviewer sounded positively high IQ compared with your drivel - plus everyone else managed comprehensive replies compared with your one sentence answers. Very poor show.

Stani I shouldn't make the fact you're now following an eleven year old public knowledge.

Guys, didn't pardew get walked for his alleged off field antics as much as the results on the pitch; shagging, pineapples etc. ? I thought he did a great job but I'm happy with Sam.

Stani its an interesting read but i dont want to see a diamond with noble at the base as we will get overrun in midfields as it involves the attcking mid staying further forward and orffering less support so we will be open to be countered to easily. lineup for ipswich

Cole Baldock

Collison Noble Nolan Lansbry/bently

McCartney faye tomkins o'brien

green

Really? Why didn't you mention it here? Dale knows little about the game in all honesty. Can't believe Setanta used to call him in for his opinion.

Hammersfan said...

It's only a two bit blog Stani

Stani said...

Hahaa, very good 2030. Concerned at the way your mind works though.

Mine was a joke Fred ;) No Taylor in your team Fred?

Stani said...

So what HF? They had the decency to ask you and put your views up. You're not a miser are you HF? Then it wouldn't have killed you.

Hammersfan said...

I was happy to help out. I merely meant it was nothing to boast about on here.

Stani said...

It's not about boasting...that's just what blogs do. It's a mutual thing....although I can see it may have come across as you boasting.

Bert said...

We were falling apart in the dressing room as Pardew allowed the baby Bentley culture to take over. He allegedly rogered a few ladies including the wife of one of our players - he simply had to go at that point in time. Pardew is the one to blame for his sacking.

fred149 said...

Yeh stani no taylor for now hes been injured for the last two game and has been off abit so giving him a rest would be good and collison has bundles of energy so should be good support on the wing and offer just as much defensivley as taylor. Im more worried about BFS playing faubert
