Allardyce's Devils now ahead of Saints on points!

Satan must be rubbing his hands together in glee as he studies the contract signed by Allardyce, giving his soul in return for the England job. With 'Arry in court today, facing a possible stretch inside for alleged tax evasion, Doctor Evil's West Ham Wanderers were confirmed as leaders of the Championship as Satan's vermin Leicester City ripped out the throats of Adkins' Saints, edging Allardyce just that little bit closer to the job he craves.

Poor Bobby Moore, already turning in his grave at the corruption of the West Ham way, must be dreading the appointment of Sam Pot as manager of the National Team. Just imagine Allardyce's England playing against Brazil! Well we may not have to imagine it the way things are going!

It is great news that we sit at the top of the table, three points clear of Southampton and with a goal difference which is only marginally inferior. The Saints have stumbled badly, and their slump continues. Lambert is so important to them, and so is Lallana, both of whom missed today's game.

We are in the box seat now, and Allardyce may just have given his and our soul to keep us there!

And if we beat 4th from bottom Ipswich and Soton & Cardiff share the spoils on the 31st, we go 5 clear, or better still one beats the other and we're 6 clear of third worst case. ................Of course as long as we beat 4th from bottom!!

PM24 will the loan extend to next season as long as it keeps us in the Premiership? And the season after etc etc. Most of us had a choice on which team to support and chose West Ham not to bask in reflected glory but to be entertained. What has hoofball achieved since Howard Wilkinson and Graham Taylor devised it, one FA Cup win for Wimbledon. Lets hope Sam does move on but please God not the England job as he will be another Graham Taylor and "Do I not like that".

A very pleasant start to the week and with 8 days still to go till Ipswich I’ve got a funny feeling we’re going to push on from here. The game on Saturday was truly awful but it did get me thinking, the fact is we are playing exceptionally poor but still managing to grind out wins. That kind of mentality can only be a positive thing and when we do get promoted this year that type of attitude may just be the difference between survival and relegation in the prem. Its not pretty, its not free-flowing but the table does show that its effective.

I think when we were relegated last year most supporters were prepared to put up with any kind of football for us to get staight back to where we belong in the premiership.
Now with us top of the league and half the season gone is not the time to start bellyacking about the style of football being played. Sam has got it right when he says do we want to do it the West Ham way of the previous two seasons if so thats easy follow just lose every game, is that what you want HF?

Last August,if someone had offered us top spot, 3 points clear after 27 games,we would snatched their hand off. We are top, we have the most points, we are there on merit.
Let's rejoice and enjoy it while it lasts.
With regard to BFS and England, it's true,we can only imagine how England would play under BFS - but what is undisputable is the memory of how England have played under Brolly-Wally and, at times Capello. There is no West Ham way, no England way anymore, it's a results business and good results bring rewards and trophies.
