What a shame the next game is in the Cup against Chelsea. Ideally, the next Prem game would follow on quickly. But the up side is that by the time the Hoops take on Villa, there could be both a buzzing sound and a Brazilian in the Bush - and imagine the squeals of delight then! A result in Birmingham followed by a victory at home to Wolves, and they will be talking about the Europa League again!
Mind you, it is suddenly getting interesting at the bottom. Bolton and Blackburn have come out of hibernation and look as if they mean to make a fight of it. But Wolves are on the slide and Wigan now look doomed. How ironic. Martinez had the chance to jump ship in the summer but opted to stay on the the deck of the Costa JJB Sports instead. That's looking like a serious error of judgement. Loyalty? Who values loyalty in football? So now the stick or twist debate has started at Molineaux - with McCarthy being blamed a week after being hailed a hero for plotting a draw at White Hart Lane.
The bottom five are still detached, and QPR are in the bottom five despite that win - so this is not the time for the Rs to get cocky nor for the gRs to get aggressively triumphant. We hauled our way out of the bottom three at one point last season and still finished bottom. But Hughes has established some momentum and that could be crucial. The odds on survival shortened yesterday. Get a result against Villa and Wolves and there could even be some breathing space! It's exciting at the bottom end!

Wow HF, that is actually extremely accurate and without the derogitory comments or low level sarcasm. Optimism and work rate brings positivity and therefore a result. Although its Chelsea i am not that bothered about a result as the league is the holy grail but still it will be a good game to blood the expected signings and gives two weeks prep for the villains. Well done again!

Most clubs look down on West ham United. A club that is living in the past with an outdated stadium and no money to spend in one of the most depressed area in the UK. Its no wonder you look to belittle others. You are to be pitied.

What a shame? QPR fans couldn't be happier to have another pop at the noisy neighbours. It also gives Hughes essentially a free game to blood any new signings, should there be any. Perfect timing, if anything.
We're top of our mini-league at the moment, and I still wouldn't bet against our league expanding to 6 or 7 teams as the weeks progress. But make no mistake, QPR fans, to a man, know that this will likely go to the wire. Just so long as we don't require a win at the Etihad on the final day, that's all we ask.
I have noticed something odd, though; EVERY OTHER ARTICLE on your West Ham blog is about QPR. Are we your 2nd team? Is their a family link?

AS a QPR fan I honestly love your stuff, it does make me chuckle, but please keep the satire in it.
I've been following this blog for a couple of years now and love both the WHU and QPR posts.
It helps that I'm a Hammer and live with a QPR supporter so I can see and hear his emotions going through their Premier League season and us in Chumps league.
I think you've been a bit disingenous to Wolves. They've been playing well recently without getting much luck and if I was a QPR fan i'd be worried about them.
I wouldn't read too much into the Bolton result last night. Liverpool didn't turn up.
I also wouldn't read too much into the QPR victory over Wigan. Without the ridiculous handball, they didn't look like scoring. Then Wigan collapsed.
So, for me. Relegation will be 3 from 5 of QPR, Wigan, Bolton, Wolves and Blackburn.
And IMO I think Wigan and Bolton are goners. So 1 from 3 of QPR, Blackburn and Wolves.
The Chumps League is a joke. How we can be top with the way we have being playing is a sad reflection on the other teams. Anyway, here's hoping that WHU and QPR are playing each in the same league next year. The Premirship that is not with the Chumps.
