83% of England Fans See Through Tottenham's Parker Myth

England fans don't always strike you as the most intelligent of people, but 83%, an overwhelming majority, have seen through the Scotty Parker myth and voted for other players as England's Player of the Year.

Parker fans, and his supporters in the popular press, have been making a big deal out of the narrow victory of Parker in the public vote but it is very easily explained. In truth polls of this sort are absurdly subjective. Will a Tottenham fan vote for an Arsenal player or vice versa? Will a Man Utd fan vote for Hart? Will an Everton or Liverpool fan vote for Rooney? And so it goes on!

Parker, on the other hand, has the backing of the fans of two of the best supported clubs in the country: both Tottenham and West Ham. Let's face it, who else could both sets of fans vote for? Rob Green hasn't been near the England team over the last year and neither has Cole. Dawson has been out injured and Lennon and Defoe have been sidelined. Walker is emerging but wasn't a serious option.

And who else was in the running? John Terry? Do me a favour! Frank Lampard? Universally loathed outside of Chelsea. Wayne Rooney? After that dismissal? Gerrard? He hasn't played! Wilshire? Sidelined and forgotten. Ashley Young? He's black; and plays for Man Utd!

The amazing thing in the circumstances is that Parker only polled 17% of the vote. Winning this nomination is like winning the long jump when all the other competitors are in wheel chairs; and Parker only won it by the equivalent of a centimetre!

How many goals for Spurs so far? None. How many assists? Still just the one!

i think if you read the ashley young part you realise where this article is coming from.... POINTLESS

What does Ashley Young being black have to do with anything? Football has overcome racism years ago mate!

Lies lies and stats. The way you twist things I am surprised this doesn't make him the sporne of the devil and more useless than Nick Clegg. P.S. he won the vote vs all others which means again your proved to be a blind cock shooting in the dark and spluttering everywhere without any sense of direction.

I like the comment about Ashley Young being black when there is a rule that states "No Racism". Class.

If it is your aim to make yourself look like a complete and utter tool, with every idiotic attack that you make against Scotty Parker, I can assure you that you are succeeding with great aplomb.

We overcame racism years ago? Try telling that to Anton Ferdinand! My point is that a section of England's fan base ARE racist and will not vote for a black player as a result - so every black player is at a disadvantage against white players in a poll. Ever heard of the BNP? Or the EDL? Ever heard the abuse of black opposition players at Stamford Bridge? Any fool who things the battle against racism has been won should note how few Asians are inside the Boleyn on match days and how many live and work in Newham!

Lies, lies and stats? The only stats are the percentage who voted for Parker and those who voted against him! He's like the Lib Dems in the Condemns! A huge majority didn't vote for them but they are still in government, albeit only as the Tory boys' fags! Clegg can't open his mouth for fear of what Osbourn might put in it!

Here's a prediction. If Parker starts all three games in our group, he will concede at least one free kick from which the opposition will score. He will not score himself and will not create a single goal. Anybody like to bet against me?

Do you even watch football mate? or play it? do you even know who Scott Parker is? Did you know what you were doing when you wrote this pile of s**t? I'm guessing not. Lastly, please do football a favour and never write anything with regards to it ever again!

You are sad. Nothing you say is constructive and I suspect you just like annoying people - whether they be WH fans or QPR fans or indeed anyone

I'm a Spurs fan, and if I was inclined to vote, I would probably make an objective decision (eg. if I saw an Arsenal player as the best player for England, I would vote that way.) In light of that, I would suggest that it would be a close run thing between Parker and Young. Is there a young / breakthrough award. If there is, I would go for Wilshere. Great little player, despite the fact he plays for the goon scum.

Offensive, meaningless drivel.

I'll take that bet HF.

Hammersfan said...

Really darren? Drop me an email and we will firm it up! Buy the drinks before and after a game?

Anony-mouse says,

Put me down for a tenner too HF.

Scoring and setting up goals aren't the reasons he's in the side. He will give away free kicks away- anyone playing in his position will, but I'm gambling on them coming to nothing. I reckon he'll be as good as anyone we've got once it starts over there, but we'll see.

I'm sure your money's as good as your ability to wind people up. So long as it's better than your ability to spot a player that's fine by me.

Drop me an email too Anony-mouse, it will be good to put a name to the mouse!

Anony-mouse says,

You know the score HF- no names, no pack drill.

Once the bet is concluded the loser can send their emissary to a checkpoint charlie type location with the money in used 50 pences. It's best we do this thing the Harry way.

Hammersfan said...

LOL But seriously, I'll take the bet but we do need a way of ensuring it will be honoured. You never know, I might really be a Spud!

All comments have to be approved by the blog author? That means that this one will never see the light of day. Your article is pointless, biased, bitter drivel.

Fair dinkum, I was wrong - you did publish. If you can be fair enough to publish critical comments, why can't you be fair enough to admit that Spurs bought your best player and you CAN'T STAND IT?

Hammersfan said...

HAVE YOU WATCHED YOUR LAST TWO GAMES? You will see the true Parker every time you play quality. He is a trier, a passionate player, but he is brainless and lacks genuine class. When his batteries start to run down, he will be useless. How long is his contract? 4 years? Ouch! It's that sort of 'Arry deal that bankrupted Pompey! And Southampton! And Bournemouth!

You obviously know as much about statistics as you do about football. I won't take you up on your bet as I couldn't imagine anything worse in life than meeting you for a drink. You clearly must be socially retarded. How do you find so much time or inclination to continually write such drivel on this subject? Really, how can you care so much? Have you ever had a meaningful relationship or steady job?

Hammersfan said...

So point out the flaw in my statistics!

I think you have some sort of mental health issue here, clearly. You NEED help desperately.

The real Parker stood up at the weekend. West Ham might have stayed up last season but for all the stupid free kicks Parker gave away on the edge of the box. How many goals did the Hammers concede that way, HF?

I too am bemused by your attitude to Scott Parker. As a WH fan, I was pleased to see him win it - my only regret is that we sold him to that dishonest shower. Spuds weren't doing so well before he arrived and have hardly looked back since. If Wenger could have brought himself to sign Parker (not good enough? and is Benyoun really a better option) I reckon the Arse would be looking down on their north London rivals.

While I don't agree with you, I enjoy your articles, which often make me laugh. I bet you'd have loved it if Parker had gone to the Grrrs??
