Half Time West Ham 0 Watford 0 - Same Old Problems!

Same, old, same old. Allardyce has started 4-4-2 and, in consequence, both Noble and Nolan are struggling. The pair need to be in a midfield five to play together it seems. Nolan wants to link with the forwards so Noble has to do too much of the defensive work. Meanwhile the wide men tuck in and we have no width going forward.

Once again, Maynard is out of the game - even though he has Cole up top alongside him. The problem, of course, is that the supply is so poor. Noble is off his game, Nolan is not a playmaker as Allardyce admits, Faubert's imposter has disappeared and the real no deal has returned in his stead - missing a sitter - and Taylor has been busy but offered little in terms of creativity after hitting the bar early doors.

Worryingly, the crowd are quiet again and there's a depressing lack of urgency on the pitch. As with Palace, we are waiting for things to happen rather than making them happen. Watford are first to the ball and are looking depressingly comfortable. And the longer this goes on, the more their confidence with grow and our anxiety will increase. Watford are crap away from home and very dodgy at the back, but you wouldn't know it tonight.

What do we do? Probably, we need to go 4-3-3 somehow, but with Nolan that's hard! Vaz Te for Faubert and Baldock for Maynard perhaps? If Allardyce is going to make the change, he has to make it sooner rather than later!

Poor - as usual, for the most part, this season.
