So Diouf joined Doncaster, and like the Portsmouth signings made by Warnock, suffered relegation. True, like On the Buses favourite Varney, Diouf scored against West Ham, but there was a certain inevitability about that, given the way the fans blocked his move to the Boleyn. And after the game against Doncaster, Diouf confirmed that Allardyce had wanted him but the fans had prevented his signing, saying, "“They said I had a problem with the fans. That’s why they didn’t sign me. That was a big mistake for West Ham because if you see the game today I love Sam Allardyce, and he would love to have me in his team.”

Reputation aside Diouf would walk into your current West Ham side which admittedly is why you won't stay up this season (I.e. rather than him still being premiership quality). However, let's give the boy a chance. My old boss used to live in the same block of appartments as him in Liverpool and said he was actually really charming.
